Hey guys, I’ve got a new cinematography showreel up on my vimeo. It’s got a bunch of my drone work, as well as some time lapse among other work. I’ve been working on some short films recently too, which I’m really keen to show you, once they are released.
Make sure you click the HD button, and turn your volume up!
It might be raining in Sydney today, but summer is here (at least it was yesterday!). Summer in Sydney also means storm season!
I’ve been busy filming interviews with travellers around Sydney for booking.com, and recently worked up in the Whitsundays on a US commercial for Travelocity, (the cover image for this post is the sunset after a days filming.)
Also, recently I was interviewed for The Cusp by Kate Bettes about my tinder photo shoots. It was fun to be on the other side of the camera for once.
That’s about all my news for now. Hope you’re all rad!
Hi there, it’s been a while between posts. What’s up?
We’ve just renewed the lease for another year, so we’re still here in Leichhardt!
Drone images are popular! People have been purchasing prints from my aerial work, taken with a drone. A few people also took advantage of my recent special on my print store too. It’s always a great feeling knowing that my art is hanging on someones wall and bringing them joy.
I’ve also had a lot of Sydney guys book me in to take professional photos for their online dating profiles this winter, I think more people are realising this is a service!
Recently I travelled to Tamworth, Australia’s country music capital. I was there to visit a friend, but got some great footage and photos during my time there. Follow me on Instagram to get a preview, I’ll have a short video edited soon.
The days are starting to get longer, and I am looking forward to summer coming back!
I just got back from Head On Photo Festival’s exhibition in Leichhardt, where I got to meet two of the exhibiting photographers.
The first was Remy Gerega, who was exhibiting amazing aerial photos of Shark Bay in Western Australia. Secondly was Luca Altamore, who had documented the West Connex Project in Sydney, and its impact on inner western Sydney communities.
A few weeks back I went down to Knox St Bar Sydney to catch Perth artist Diger Rokwell. His performance was part of his We Can Ride Australian tour.
Diger Rokwell was actually the first artist I ever had a photograph published of. I remember photographing his Earth Head Launch at the Rosemount Hotel in North Perth years ago and having my first published photo in Drum Magazine Perth.
I really enjoyed the new music by Diger. His use of vocoder really gives a psychedelic feel, and the occasional drop of some jungle beats had me back in raver bunny paradise.
He was supported by The Boost Hero Man (Perth) and Captain Earwax (Sydney).
You can get a copy of We Can Ride by Diger Rokwell on his Bandcamp Page.
I haven’t written a lot on the blog for quite some time. We are now based out of Leichhardt, which is a lot better suited to running a photography business which services a lot of clients in the CBD.
In addition to photography, I have been producing more video work. From a recent commercial, to live band performances and seminars on social media.
Events have long been a core part of my photography business, particularly music events. My work as a newspaper photographer also meant a lot of event photography, so it has been fun covering events here in Sydney.
Being central in Sydney has also allowed me to really push my tinder photo shoots to clients. It’s an idea that has proved popular with guys in Sydney. There was a rush on tinder shoot bookings at the start of summer. The demand died off somewhat towards the end of summer, but I’m now receiving more enquiries for tinder shoots again.
I’ve also recently been getting into drone photography and videography. Sydney has such a picturesque coast line, and has been such a great place to learn to fly a drone. Sydney’s ocean pools are also something unique for me to photograph, as they aren’t something I’m used to as a Perth kid.
For the rest of 2017 I’m keen to push my corporate photography to a wider audience, as well as gain some more music industry clients. I’m also very keen to fill up my video show reel with more of Sydney’s beautiful coast line.
Jordan’s experience working for major newspapers means that your images will be edited and then provided to you with a rapid turn around time. No waiting for weeks for your photos while your guests have forgotten about your event.
Jordan also has a pool of trusted photographers, so should you require the services of more than one event photographer, we can provide a team of photographers large enough to cover your event. No matter what the size.
If you are holding an event such as a charity ball, please get in touch, because I have special packages available to registered charity organisations. I can also offer an online print store for your attendees to purchase prints, with a portion of the proceeds being donated back to your fund raiser.
Should you also require video of your event, Jordan has you covered for this. Your event can be recorded from multiple angles, and edited as your needs require, or you can simply be provided with the raw video footage to have edited, or for archival purposes.
You can read more information about our video production services here.
Just like when you are buying something online. People judge the appearance of a person based on the quality of their photographs. In this instant age, decisions are made in a split second, so you want to look your best.
Not everyone is chilled out when there is a camera on them, so it can be hard to have good photographs of yourself. Perhaps you’ve recently come out of relationship and all of your photos are with your ex. No matter why, I can help you get quality professional photographs for use on your online dating profiles.
