I work across film, television and commercial productions in Australia, bringing a combination of camera, cinematography, digital imaging and post-production experience to projects of different scales.
My work spans cinematography and video production, camera operation, Digital Imaging Technician and dailies workflows, as well as commercial and creative video production.
With a background in both photography and technology, I’m equally comfortable working behind the camera or managing the technical workflows that happen once the camera starts rolling.
Cinematography & Camera
I work as a cinematographer and camera operator across commercial, creative, music and screen productions.
Projects can range from smaller productions requiring a flexible camera and lighting setup through to larger productions working alongside established camera, lighting, sound and production departments.
My stills photography background has a strong influence on my cinematography, particularly in composition, lighting and creating images that support the story rather than simply documenting what is happening.
Depending on the production, I can work as part of an existing crew or help bring additional crew and equipment on board where required.

Digital Imaging Technician & Dailies
Alongside camera work, I work professionally as a Digital Imaging Technician and in dailies workflows for film and television production.
Modern digital cinema productions can generate enormous amounts of camera data, and managing that material reliably is a critical part of the production process.
My DIT and dailies work can include camera media offload, verified backups, data management, colour workflows, transcoding, quality control, metadata management, and preparation and delivery of material to editorial and post-production.
My background in IT and computer technology is particularly useful in this role, combining an understanding of digital cinema cameras and colour with the technical knowledge required to build reliable workflows around large volumes of production data.
I have experience working with high-resolution digital cinema workflows and production environments where several terabytes of camera media can be generated in a single shooting day.
Commercial & Creative Video Production
Not every project requires a full film or television crew.
I also work on commercial and creative video projects where a smaller production footprint can be more appropriate, including branded content, corporate video, arts projects, performance, interviews, promotional films and social media content.
Depending on the project, I can provide camera operation and cinematography as part of an existing production, or work with additional crew to take a project from production through to a finished film.
Additional crew can be brought on board where required, including sound recordists, lighting technicians, camera assistants, producers and editors.

Music Videos
Music has been part of my photography and filmmaking work throughout my career.
I have worked with musicians both on stage and off, creating photography and moving images for artists, performances and promotional projects.
Music video production can range from relatively simple performance-based shoots through to more developed concepts involving locations, lighting, additional crew and post-production.
My experience across photography, cinematography and music gives me an understanding of both the technical requirements of a production and the importance of creating imagery that suits the artist and their music.

My work in screen production also draws on more than 16 years of professional photography experience.
That experience includes commercial, advertising, editorial, portrait and promotional photography, and has given me a strong understanding of lighting, composition and working quickly with people on location.

Technical Experience
My career began in information technology before photography and filmmaking became my full-time work.
That technical background continues to be useful on set, particularly when working with digital cinema cameras, data, storage, networking, colour, monitoring and post-production workflows.
Film sets move quickly, and equipment and workflows need to work reliably without becoming a distraction from the production itself.
Combined with more than 16 years of professional camera experience, this gives me an unusual crossover between the creative and technical sides of production, particularly in my work as a DIT and dailies technician.

I’m based in Western Australia and available for film, television, commercial and creative productions throughout Australia.
I’m comfortable working as part of an established camera or production department, joining a project for a specific technical role, or working more independently on smaller productions.
