I provide cinematography and video production for theatre, performance, corporate, event and commercial projects in Sydney and across Australia.

Having lived and worked in Sydney for around a decade, I have extensive experience filming projects across the city, ranging from theatre productions and live performances to corporate communications, seminars, music videos, television commercials and broadcast footage.

I’m now based in Perth and continue to work interstate where the production requires it.

Whether you need an experienced camera operator to capture professionally produced footage or require a project to be filmed, edited and delivered as a finished production, I can tailor the approach to suit the job.

Projects can range from small one-person shoots through to larger productions requiring additional camera, lighting, sound and post-production crew.

Theatre & Performance Videographer Sydney

I have experience filming theatre, dance, music and other live performance in Sydney and elsewhere in Australia.

Performance videography presents a particular set of challenges. The camera needs to capture the action without interfering with the audience or performers, while dealing with rapidly changing stage lighting, movement and sound.

Depending on the production, coverage can involve a single camera or multiple camera positions, with the finished footage edited into a complete performance, promotional video, archival recording or shorter content for websites and social media.

I can work with theatre companies, independent performers, musicians, producers, venues and arts organisations to determine the most appropriate coverage for the production.

Corporate video doesn’t always require a large production crew.

I work on interviews, presentations, training material, seminars, internal communications, promotional videos and other business content where a flexible production approach is often more useful than bringing an unnecessarily large crew onto location.

Depending on the project, I can work independently or bring additional crew on board for lighting, sound, additional cameras, production and post-production.

Event Videography Sydney

Video can extend the life of an event well beyond the day itself.

I can film conferences, presentations, launches, performances and corporate events, providing anything from straightforward documentation through to edited highlights and promotional content.

If footage needs to be delivered quickly for media, communications or social channels, turnaround requirements can be incorporated into the production workflow.

Video Editing & Post-Production

If you only need professionally captured raw footage, that can be arranged. I can also take a project through editing and final delivery.

Post-production can include editing, colour correction, audio finishing, titles, graphics and delivery in the formats required for websites, social media, presentations or broadcast.

The amount of post-production required varies considerably between projects, so editing is quoted according to the amount of footage, complexity of the project, finished duration and number of revision rounds required.

Videographer or Cinematographer?

The terms videographer and cinematographer overlap, but they can describe quite different production environments.

A videographer will often work independently or with a small crew, handling several parts of the production such as camera, lighting and sometimes sound. This approach can be ideal for corporate projects, events, theatre, interviews and smaller commercial productions.

A cinematographer usually works as part of a larger production crew alongside a director, camera assistants, grips, lighting technicians, sound recordists and other production departments.
