I’m a Perth music photographer with more than 16 years of professional photography experience, creating promotional portraits, press photography, artist imagery and live music photography for musicians and bands.

My approach can range from simple, natural portraits through to more carefully planned creative shoots using locations, lighting and concepts developed around the artist.
Promotional Photography for Perth Musicians
Promotional photographs often become the visual identity of an artist across multiple platforms.
A single shoot might need to provide images for Spotify and other streaming services, social media, websites, press releases, posters, tour promotion, album or single artwork and editorial use.
Rather than creating several versions of essentially the same portrait, I like to produce a varied collection of images that gives you options.
Depending on the project, that might involve several locations, different lighting approaches, wardrobe changes and a mixture of portraits and wider environmental photographs.
Artist Portraits & Press Photography
I’ve spent much of my career photographing people, including musicians, actors, artists, public figures and people who aren’t accustomed to being photographed at all.
That experience is particularly useful for artist portraits.
You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose. I’ll give you direction when it’s useful while leaving enough room for the photographs to feel natural.
If you’re working with a publicist, record label, designer or management team, I’m also comfortable working from an established creative brief and delivering photographs for specific media and promotional requirements.
Album & Single Artwork
Photography for an album or single can be approached differently from straightforward promotional portraits.
If you already have a concept, we can develop the photography around it. Alternatively, we can work through locations, lighting, styling and references to find an approach that fits the music.
Photographs can also be composed with artwork and graphic design in mind, including negative space for typography, logos and other design elements.
Live Music Photography Perth
My background in music photography includes photographing concerts, festivals, venues and performances ranging from small shows through to major Australian music festivals.
Live photography is about more than getting a technically sharp photograph of somebody on stage. I look for lighting, movement, expressions, interaction between performers and the audience, and the moments that communicate the atmosphere of a show.

Music Photography Experience
Music has been part of my photography work since early in my career.
I’ve photographed musicians and performances for editorial, promotional and commercial projects, with work appearing in publications including Triple J Magazine, The Wire, Xpress Magazine and DRUM! Magazine USA.
I’ve also photographed at Australian music festivals including Parklife, Southbound, Laneway and Future Music, as well as artists including Deep Purple, Crystal Castles and Drapht.
That experience covers both sides of music photography: working quickly in unpredictable live environments and slowing things down to create carefully considered promotional portraits.
Music Videos & Cinematography
I also work in moving image, including cinematography, camera operation and music video production.
This can be useful when an artist needs still photography and video content as part of the same release or promotional campaign.
